Licking Camp in Branson

The JV and Freshmen girls endured 3 days of volleyball last week in Branson. The girls played at several different locations, had plenty of time for bonding and were driven around by their awesome parents. I was a one man coaching machine managing 2 teams, which kept me insanely busy. I even got to coach both of my JV teams at the same time on different courts! We recruited the McCarter sisters to help lead our incoming freshmen. Proud of all of you girls!

JV team, KHS IIB...undefeated and winners of their bracket :)

Coaches Courtney & Kinsey McCarter helped us out with the freshmen team. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The freshmen team got better each match. They played with enthusiasm and competitiveness.

Varsity Places 1st at MU Team Camp

MU Camp...Here we come!

The girls left a lasting impression at MU Team Camp this past week. The first match was a little rough as they worked out the kinks and got used to playing together, but thankfully, it was all uphill from there. The Volleychiefs were challenged by several talented teams from the KC and St. Louis areas and came out on top after 3 days. Their time at MU included 15 matches of volleyball, walking to and from Hearnes center 3 times a day in 95 degree heat, playing the tunnel game, battling 3 foot tall gymnasts in the food lines and awesome dorm room accommodations :)

Always together, as a team, as it should be :)

Em, Maris and Kinsey walking back to the dorms!

We had to walk through a construction site to get to Hearnes Center. Of course the girls couldn't resist walking through this huge concrete cylinder.

Head MU Coach, Wayne Kreklow, congratulating the Volleychiefs on their 1st place win!

The girls were exhausted, but proud after 2 hard fought semi & final matches that went to 3 games each.

1st Place T-shirts...sometimes more exciting to them than anything else!
